I grew up in a small town on the wide open plains of North Dakota, where the smell of wheat and the sound of hard work were as constant as the wind. My dad sold farm equipment and I spent my childhood in the fields beside him, climbing tractors, riding combines, and learning what it meant to show up and do the work. Those early years gave me something no classroom could. Resilience, resourcefulness, and a deep understanding of what it means to stay grounded when life gets hard.

After graduating from Minot High School I joined the U.S. Air Force. I started as an Ammunition Specialist, stepped away to raise my children and explore civilian work, and later returned through the Air Force Reserve and Air National Guard. Over 26 years of service I was stationed in Florida, South Korea, Missouri, Arkansas, North Dakota, and Colorado, working in Human Resources, Medical Records, and other areas of responsibility. I witnessed what it felt like to be overlooked, under-led, and out of alignment with purpose. But I also discovered the quiet strength that comes from serving well, leading from within, and trusting God in every season.

That journey led me to earn three Community College of the Air Force associate degrees, a bachelor's in Human Resources from Colorado Technical University, and a master's in Executive Leadership from Liberty University. I became a certified coach, speaker, and trainer with Maxwell Leadership and a leadership coach with Soldiers to Sidelines. But more than the credentials, it was the lived experience of navigating transition, loss, and growth that prepared me for the work I do today.

In the middle of building this business I faced a Stage 4 cancer diagnosis. That season stripped away everything nonessential and left me with a clarity I could not have found any other way. Growth is a choice. Purpose is worth fighting for. And no leader, no title, and no organization can do the internal work for you. Transforming Life with Heidi was born from that realization. I believe everyone deserves to be led well, including themselves, and I built this practice for people who are ready to grow now, not someday.
